Mendelssohn-Bartholdy Felix
Мендельсон-Бартольди Феликс (1809-1847), композитор, дирижёр, органист, пианист, выдающийся философ, идеолог обновления иудаизма. Внук Мозеса Мендельсона. Основатель первой немецкой консерватории (в Ляйпциге). Возглавлял Ляйпцигскую школу, в творчестве придерживался романтических идеалов XIX в. и классицизма. Его самобытный стиль характеризуется стройностью, уравновешенностью форм, сдержанностью экспрессии и изяществом. Положил начало "баховскому" возрождению XIX в. В 1835 г. стал руководителем оркестра Гевандхауз в Ляйпциге. Автор музыки к театральным постановкам, ораторий, музыки для церкви и симфонического оркестра, камерно-инструментальной музыки. В Ляйпциге находится мемориальная квартира композитора, перед зданием Нового гевандхауза установлен памятник (вместо уничтоженного нацистами в 1936 г.) → Mendelssohn Moses, Leipziger Schule, Gewandhaus 2)
